When you land, our team will be waiting at the airport with a Sam Travel Life sign and will drive you straight to your riad in the heart of the medina. Once you have settled in, head out to Jemaa el-Fna Square, where street music, spice stalls and storytellers give you an instant taste of Morocco’s energy. Overnight in a traditional riad.
After leaving Marrakech, the road climbs through the High Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka pass, passing Berber hamlets and dramatic mountain scenery. A stop at the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, easily recognizable from several film sets, is a highlight before you continue. You will drive through the palm-filled Skoura oasis and the Valley of Roses, famous for its rose-water production, before reaching Tinghir for the night, set between mountains and palm groves. Dinner and overnight at a local hotel.
Set off in the morning for the Todra Gorges, where canyon walls rise up to 300 meters, and take a walk along the base. The route then continues to Erfoud, a town known for its fossil trade and craftsmanship, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. This is where the real adventure begins: climb onto your camel and ride across the dunes to our luxury desert camp, where dinner under the stars is accompanied by Berber drumming and music around the fire. Overnight in the desert camp.
Early risers can watch the sunrise over the dunes, a moment well worth the early start. After breakfast at the camp, ride back to Merzouga by camel to meet your vehicle for the drive back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas again through changing scenery of green valleys and bare peaks. You will arrive in Marrakech around sunset and be transferred to your riad.
Your guide will pick you up from the riad around 8:30–9:00 AM for a walking tour of the Red City, including the Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Medersa, the medina souks, the Mellah (Jewish quarter), Jemaa el-Fna Square and the Koutoubia Mosque. In the afternoon, you can choose to add the Majorelle Garden and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (tickets booked in advance). The day ends with a transfer to Marrakech Airport in time for your flight.
